Happy Holidays from Anxiety Zone!
« on: December 01, 2009, 11:39:14 AM »
Greetings Members!

As we gear up for the Holiday Season, we are also making a number of positive changes. We have seen members come and go over the years. Sometimes they leave the forum because they have either fully or partially recovered. Some members leave because they find the posts at Anxiety Zone actually fuel their anxiety. Some expect to get a diagnosis (but of course, only your doctor can provide you with this). I have seen a number of posts over the past year questioning the therapeutic value of using a forum such as ours. Does it help or hurt?. To answer this important question, let's look at what you will and will not find when visiting Anxiety Zone...

What you won't find here:

* A "miracle" cure.
* Medical advice.
* A diagnosis.

What you will find here:

* Friendship.
* Support.
* Comfort.
* Reassurance.
* Inspiration.
* Encouragement.
* The discovery that you are not alone.
* Opinions from other members.
* Tips, strategies and advice on coping from others who have already "been there".
* Personal stories of our experiences with anxiety disorders.

There are a number of therapeutic benefits one derives from using the forum and when just talking about anxiety all day gets kind of depressing, we have a number of non-anxiety forums to visit too such as "The Lounge", "Inspiration Place" and "The Anxiety Zone Arcade" (can you think of any more we should add?). You can also visit our new social networking site (Anxiety Zone Connections) and create a custom blog, your own group, chat with other members in our chat room and so many other things.

If you are a member who has fully or partially recovered, why not stay on and share your recovery story with us or volunteer as a Community Greeter or Moderator?. Lot's of other members would love to know how you did it and no doubt, you would have a lot to offer in the way of helpful advice and support. Even if you don't wish to come back on a regular basis, it would be great just to hear from you again and find out what's new in your life.

If you are a member who left us because for whatever reason you were unhappy with your visit here, we would also be very interested in knowing what lead to your decision to leave. Hearing from members who have had an unhappy experience here is vitally important since if we are not aware of the problem, we can't fix it. Talk to us in complete anonymity (if you choose) and let us know why you left?. We'd love more than anything to deal with the issue that caused you to leave and have you back with us again because we truly care - which is why we created the forum in the first place :happy0151: .

If you've been lurking here for months, why not drop in and tell us a little bit about yourself?. We are a warm, friendly and supportive bunch and are here to help but you have to post first so we can see what issue your having. Come on in and say hi. We'd all love to get to know you!.

If you have any suggestions on how we can make the forum a better place, we'd love to hear from you as well. Your input is important in improving the forum in a positive way for everyone.

In about 2 weeks, Anxiety Zone will be getting it's annual "glitz and glitter" Holiday makeover. While the theme will be Christmas-based, we welcome everyone regardless of which Holiday you celebrate this time of year so please come join us!.

- Happy Holidays from your friends at Anxiety Zone :action-smiley-065: .

DON'T ever let anxiety define who you are.  You are NOT anxiety.

Thank you for the holiday greetings. I would like to express my gratitude for a positive upbeat site.when I am down I ccan always get distracted by logging on.  Lately I have been feeling pretty good. I have been veryy busy caring for my mother who has been battling with luekemia. Her battle was over on nov.21 when she went to be with Jesus. I miss her  soooooo much She was the best of the best of the best of the bestI love her.  Merry Christmas everyone  have a great season

ive been here almost, time seems to have flown by!i've been supportive and been supported and the chatroom has a very family orientated feel to it.
i've watched people grow and blossom and been inspired myself, had my up's and downs,come across personality claches and still managed to admire and feel deep respect for those people.
everyone here is wonderful in thier own way and they all contribute to the site in thier own unique ways.......what more could a person want from a site?
it has it all and i hope i continue to grown and learn as others are doing right now because of the love and support here.
love,blessings and healing prayers to all and a very merry christmas and new year  :holiday59:

Greetings everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that the new Christmas Theme is up and running :holiday26:

Head over to http://www.acservicesuk.com/kyodaixmasbg.htm and grab an absolutely gorgeous Christmas wallpaper for your desktop. These wallpapers are for a Mahjongg game but I've been using them for years and they work perfectly as desktop wallpaper and are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen.
