On a positive note
« on: November 21, 2009, 11:06:35 PM »
I thought I'd post something positive about my health, since I often focus on the negative. I just cleaned out my "medicine" cabinet, and in it I found scores of old vitamins, 6 years of outdated prescriptions for all sorts of meds that I never finished (after giving birth, and a kidney stone etc.) some codeine from when I had a terrible cough a few years back, some old bottles of meds for my husband when he had Meniere's Disease (which went away), a couple of unfinished bottles of Ativan from different times in my life, and a month's supply of zoloft that I got after I had my son and never used.

Other than that, some flea and tick preventative for my dog and some old nail polish. Oh, and of course tylenol and stuff like that. This is my long way of saying, I am grateful that I have medicine available when I need it, but that I rarely need to finish a prescription. And, that at 40 years old I am glad to not be on any maintenance medication for anything physical. I realize this is a gift, and I am thankful -- for many people I know (even my age) are.

I am grateful for my good health today, and most importantly, the ability to recognize my good health.

Gridder, that is an awesome post. My goal is to stay away from meds as much as possible and deal with my issues head on. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do this yet but that is my goal.

Thanks for the post.

That is really great! ;D

Unfortunately for me at 42, I have to be on high blood pressure meds, and medication for IBS. Both of which I am sure, is for life.

The good news is, what I have is treatable and not a death sentence ;D :winking0008:
