Fainting has become a huge problem.
« on: November 11, 2009, 01:19:07 PM »
My anxiety level has been wonderful lately but now I'm on this bout of fainting and it's so embarrassing!
I have no doubt that it's on more of a personal level because I'm about as sensitive as they come but the smallest things trigger it, it's awful.
For example: My mother told me yesterday her best friend fed a hairless rat to a pet snake, didn't go into detail because I have 5 hairless babies and as soon as she said it, I got really hot - and went out cold on the kitchen floor. Ridiculous, I know.
Then another one,  my boyfriend was showing me videos on youtube about traditional tattoos, few seconds into it..I fainted, sitting down at that.
It's just become such a problem, I'm terrified to leave the house because of I'm afraid I might see something that will make me queasy and faint in the middle of a store or something? I've had every test - CT, EEG, EKG'S, etc. but nothing besides low blood pressure.
Is there anything I can do besides try and avoid triggers? any medications that help with the passing out? I'm soo tired of it!  ::)

I don't have anything all that helpful to say about the fainting...

but regarding the ratties, as we are rat folk too.  :winking0008:

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

I think this is something you should talk to your doctor about. I'm sure there is something that can be done to help you with this. I'm sure it's very scary.

As for feeding rats to snakes?  :sign0171: I'm a pet person...I don't know how people can do that!
