I love my xanax, but....
« on: November 19, 2006, 07:55:38 PM »
does anyone else feel dizzy when they are not on it?  I have been taking xanax at night for the past 3 weeks, but within the last 5 days or so, I feel dizzy throughout the day, until I take my xanax.

Is something wrong with me or this common?

Thanks for any feedback!

I have felt somewhat dizzy and tired lately from waiting all day to take my klonopin, which is the same class as xanax.  Althugh I am unsure if that is what is causing mine because I have taken it for months now and why it would suddenly start, I dunno.

I am so glad someone responded to this!

It is weird because I have had anxiety for a while now and have had some hardcore symptoms, but recently, I have just felt dizzy and lightheaded.  Of course I never throw up or fall over or pass out or anything, but as soon as I take my xanax, it goes away.  So the dizziness is either caused by my body wanting xanax or it is anxiety and the xanax makes it better, right?  It would be one of the two, I imagine....or it would not go away, right?  Or should I be worried?  It is just annoying and sometimes scary.

Hmm, well you haven't taken it long enough to get really addicted exactly, but I kind of wonder the same things as you about my medicine.

Most likely it is your normal anxiety.  I supposedly can take mine twice per day, but I was worried that may make me too tired or something, so I only take it at bed time.  Then during the day I DO feel worse. It's just hard to be "sure" whether that means I am dependant on the med itsellf and my body wants more or if my anxiety itself is doing it and I need more just because it's my anxiety.

It;s very likely that over the 3 weeks your body got a little more used to it and so it wears off quicker or something.

If I keepf eeling so dizzy and tired, I may have to stop mine and see what happens.  I dont know....
