I don't know anymore :/
« on: October 01, 2009, 11:29:42 PM »
My mind is spinning in cirlces right now!...

My doctor presribed me Lexapro and within a few day's I was experiencing Insomnia, irregular heart beats and dizzness. So, I mentioned it to the doctor and she told me to stop taking it so I did! However whenever I was telling her how I was feeling she made me feel like I was imagining these sympthoms. Do you honestly think someone can imagine sympthoms like that?...Sure, I was hesitant to be put on the medication in the first place but oviously I wasen't too concerned or else I wouldn't of taken it. You know

Thank's!

especially when you are already concerned that you would have a reaction.  It happens quite often.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

Maybe you could try a lower dose.  I eased my way into meds and didn't experience many side effects at all, and what I did experience, didn't last more than a couple days.  Meds have really helped me.

Good luck!

Our minds can imagine things. I know that taking meds is scary. I was terrified to start taking Citalopram for my depression, anxiety and OCD. Try to keep in mind that the doctors have your best interests in mind, and it may take some time to find the right med/dosage. It will be worth it in the end, promise

Thank you for clearing up my uncertanity about the mind making you feel something that isn't really there. It's a relief to hear that!

So, if my mind is making me imagine sympthoms that arn't really there how do you deal?

Yesterday I started taking Celexa. I was prescribed 20 mg. of that. However I was told to cut it in half and see how I do for two weeks and if I don't feel any different I was told to take the whole pill....I was a little tired which I know is a common sympthom of taking a new medication and will decrease over time. However my heart feels like it's pumping irregular just like when I took the Lexapro.

How are you suppose to distinguish real sympthoms from your mind making up sympthoms?

Thank's!
