This is getting on my nerves!
« on: September 16, 2009, 12:36:28 PM »
My upper lip, on the left side, has been twitching for about 20 minutes!  I get eye twitches, but have never had my upper lip twitch before.  I can even see when I look in the mirror.

I want to go home.

My upper lip started twitching a couple of weeks ago.  It has done it a few times today. Before my lip twiched, my nose would twitch, but that has gone away since the lip started.  It is so weird!

Your lip is twitching?  Oh isn't that just fun.  Mine has done that---it kinda makes me feel like Elvis.  :laugh3:

In all seriousnsess though---twitching, no matter where it occurs on your body, is related to anxiety.  It may be annoying, but it is harmless.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

It finally stopped.  I'm kind of surprised how worked up I got over it.  Not that I never overreact to things, but a little lip twitch?  Come on.

I know I'm overly stressed, and I know that stress can cause twitching.  I've just never experienced twitching in that spot before.

Now back to worrying about the big thing -- DVT & PE.  Haha.

One day you'll be surprised that you got worked up over DVT and PE.

Twitching is a quite common benign anxiety and stress related symptom.

yes!!! i get a lot of twitching everywhere.  It started with my eye and that lasted almost a month.  Then it moved to my legs and sometimes i feel like my face is pulseing a little.  My eyes still twich every once in a while and my legs seem to have stopped twitching as much as soon as i started taking a multi vitamin.  That could just be all in my head abou the vitamin.  But i def know how you feel.  I used to get worked up about it too much but now when it happens i just get really pissed off.

It's funny, because my legs have been twitching a lot too, but I hardly worry about that at all.

One day you'll be surprised that you got worked up over DVT and PE.

I sure hope so.  I'm having a really rough time with it, and it's getting to the point where it's interfering with my life.
