Greetings Anxiety Zone Members!

I am happy to announce a brand new Social Networking site for Anxiety Zone members: Anxiety Zone Connections. This project is completely new and something that has been an unpublicized work in progress for several months now (and continuing). There is still plenty left to do such as adding a chat dialogue, forum categories, an instant messenger invite system, Twitter integration and much more. As always, your input is greatly appreciated (and important!).

Anxiety Zone Connections will not replace Anxiety Zone but rather, will compliment it, providing members with full social networking capabilities as well as the ability to sign in using their existing FaceBook(TM) account (only your avatar and name will be imported). If you don't already have a FaceBook(TM) account, signing up to use Anxiety Zone Connections is still a very quick and easy process.

Anxiety Zone was created to provide a safe "zone" for people suffering from anxiety-related disorders and it seems to have served that purpose well and continues to. The purpose of Anxiety Zone Connections is to provide people with a light-hearted and fun way to connect with each other and share real-time updates on their lives "as it happens". With Anxiety Zone Connections you can...

* Create a profile and upload a custom avatar.
* Invite friends/receive invites.
* Send and receive private messages.
* Receive notifications when friends post or message you.
* Create a network of friends.
* Create your own user groups.
* Create a full-fledged blog with your own admin center.
* Participate in the forum.
* Use "settings" to choose the options that are right for YOU.

You can access Anxiety Zone Connections by simply clicking on the "Anxiety Zone Connections" logo that appears in the upper-right corner on each page of the main Anxiety Zone forum.

Thank you and Happy Networking! happy0151 .

- Warm Regards, GreyGoose

THANKS GreyGoose! I think this is such a neat idea! Gives us a chance to know each other a bit more beyond our anxious hang-ups, etc. And thank you so much for your continuing dedication and upkeep of this website- you are an amazing and selfless person for providing this for us! yes I have to rustle up my credit card from the depths of the closet and I will help out as much as possible in that department.

Thanks again, Goose!

That is very kind and thoughtful of you Shrublet and your very welcome happy0151 . Your right, it is nice to have a place we can go where we don't have to focus so much on things like symptoms, etc but can instead just have fun and get to know each other on a more personal level and share our lives with each other. It seems to have become quite popular in just an amazingly short period of time. I'm going to have to find a spot somewhere to post a "How To" or FAQ for people just starting out.

Hope you have a great (and anxiety-free) day!.

Oh, great, GreyGoose! Let me know if I can help out with the "how to" at all. It might be helpful to suggest that people could incorporate their AZ username in their profile somewhere so it's not quite so confusing. yes Or maybe I'm the only one getting confused.

(Edited to add:)
A few users who imported their profiles from Facebook are having issues with blurry photos. Do you know of any way to change this? It seems they can't change their avatar to a new version of the file.

That's a good point you bring up (about incorporation of AZ user names). Here are a few tips I need to point out for those who are just starting out over at the new site...

* Most account features and settings can be accessed from the "My Account" menu in the upper-left portion of the screen (you must be logged in to see this).

* You can only post to a person's wire if you have been previously invited by that person and they have accepted you as a friend or if they invited you and you accepted them as a friend. In other words, you must be friends with that person first.

* Member names from Anxiety Zone are not automatically migrated to the new site. If you sign in with your FaceBook(TM) account, your FaceBook(TM) name and avatar will be used. If you sign up from scratch however, it's always a good idea to use the same member name you use here on the forums so that people will recognize you. Also, the system does a "check" from time to time to see if member names on the forum match the ones on the new site and if no match is found, the account can end up being seen as a spam bot and deleted so again, it's important to always use your actual forum name when signing up.

I'll post more tips and info as I think of it...

okay maybe this sounds dorky but I don't want my real name on it just my user name.  I could get my name off the public page, but the activity on the home page and then on my Public page --further on down--showed my name.  so it scarededdddd me and I deleted the account.  Can I set it up that my first and last name won't show up anywhere.  If the answer is too detailed, you can just PM me.

Six so long as you aren't importing your Facebook account, if you have one, just sign up again with Sixpack and it should work ok. I'm surprised it didn't change your profile info because I changed mine and it seemed to update ok.

Have you tried using "Sixpack" in both the username and full name fields?. You might try this and if it doesn't work, let me know. Your FB name will be whatever it is on your regular FB account. Like Shrublet suggested you might want to sign up again and then edit your name in your profile.

UPDATE: Issue fixed. Just use "Sixpack" in both the "Username" and "Verfiy Username" fields.

thanks GG

I just went on to redo with sixpack and my e'mail, but even though I deleted my account, it says that name and email is reserved for 2 days.  I have to wait to use those.  I figured since I deleted it those two items would be open.  I guess I'll have to wait.

See I'm not such a computer person.  i have to have my hand held.   laugh3

Aw Six that's weird! Oh well!

I noticed another thing- maybe it's silly. But are the admin for the groups on there randomly assigned, or did those people actually create the groups? happy0151

ETA- oh wait, I see the "create a group" option now that I didn't see before. Makes sense then that those people would create those groups. I'm glad people are participating!

I tried to create an account but it just kept reloading the main page. Sad
