Why is this affecting me so much??
« on: August 27, 2009, 06:11:55 PM »
This has been a very stressful month. As you might already know, my mom (80 years old) had a heart attack three weeks ago, and while I am the third of four children, I have been doing everything alone. She is finally feeling better, but I have to say that this event spiked my H.A. terribly. Last night, a friend of mine called to tell me that another girlfriend of mine has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She's beaten other cancer before, and  has a strong family history as well, but now my H.A. is at the highest I think it has ever been. I have been poking and prodding my nodes and it's becoming an obsession with me.

What can I do to stop this??  Today I turned off my phone and wouldn't speak to anyone, because I just couldn't deal with anything more. Have you ever felt this way?  My mother-in-law yelled at me for turning my phone off and told me to "snap out of it". This only infuriated me.

Eva,
I am sorry to hear about your mother and friend. I am going through a similar situation right now and my HA has also spiked. That is normal through times like these. I am glad your mother is feeling better. And I hate when people tell me to just "snap out of it" they don't understand that we can't or we would. Do they think we enjoy having HA? Just try to relax and not worry ( i know easier said than done)
Poking and prodding isn't going to do anything except make a bunch of sore spot  :P So STOP!!!!!  :happy0151: Try to relax and think positive and do things you enjoy!!!!!
