First time writer

Hello everyone

I was just diagnosed with severe anxiety a couple weeks ago.  it has been such a strain to me.  All the symptoms and how tired I feel all the time.  Is there light at the end of the tunnel?  I know it is a process and I am seeing a professional right now and on some meds.  I am so tired of the chest  pains and the back discomfort and the tingling all over my body.  Just looking for advice!!!!  Thanks jd

Welcome to the Board!

My advice would be keep talking about your feelings.  Keep taking your meds as they take a while to work.  The meds may make you feel a little worse before you get better, but give them time.

Just know there is always someone here to talk too.

Take care and feel better sooon.

I'm with you! I've had sever anxiety for several years now and I've been in your spot. The good news is, with therapy and med's and time, thing's will be better. However the bad news is that, like several other mental disorders, good times can come and go. I'm in the middle of riding out a bad time. But the good news is it will also pass. I've started keeping a journal and I post a lot! It really helps!

If you stay consistent with your therapy and meds you will be surprised on how much progress you can make. If you dont mind me asking, how old are you?

You have already taken the firt step by asking for help ! Have patience with both the therapy and meds, try and stay positive always looking at yourself as on the road to recovery , take baby steps, talk about every thing that bothers you and never ever hold back your tears as this is one of the best tools you have yourself . with every tear out comes the fear! Try not to feed the fear or anxiety! Best of luck on the road to recovery keep us posted :sign0111:

The first step you have taken. From here on out things will become clearer and the road a little easier. Don't get me wrong. This is hard work and if you think your anxiety wears you out....wait until you begin working on getting rid of it:-) However, the positive is that you will learn new ways to deal with it.
Medication and therapy are the best ways. CBT therapy is the best treatment out there for anxiety. Medication takes a while to work so you have to hang in there with it. Don't give up you are on right road.
