Sleep
« on: June 26, 2009, 07:17:23 AM »
Hi from the UK. I will keep this short. I am a 52 year old Male with Depression and Anxiety. the worse thing when this kicks in is the lack of sleep. I lay there churning. I know people say get up etc but the churning inside wont let me? It also makes me go to the toilet (2) much more. i do work but am like a zombie at times. I take 5mg of Citalopram and am gradually raising the dosage to see if I can compensate. Just need reassurance that the lack of sleep and churning wont kill me? i also lose appetite etc then people say that I have lost weight which also stresses me as I then think I am really ill and off goes the vicious circle. the simplest thought about something I have to do can send a rush of adrenaline through my body and I am awake. Even though my mind says i cant do it....I still do it but am so drained from fighting. Any help gladly accepted. Thanks

Hello.  Just 1 month ago, I was feeling the same way.  Exact same things going on, only I'm 16.  I was feeling like I was going to die, and lost 23 lbs from not eating because I was afraid I was going to get sick.  My weight is back.   ;D  I, too, was wondering if I was going to die, and I'm here aren't I?  You will get better.  I remember going on this website and asking the same question, and everyone said, "You will get better", and other things like that.  Well, in that state of horribleness, I didn't believe it.  Sometimes I did, but mostly, I didn't believe anyone.  I am feeling better.  One thing that REALLY helps me is to exercise.  Go for a quick bike ride, go for a walk, things like that.  You will feel better because your brain releases endorphins.  I PROMISE you, you will get better.

Thank you. This episode was so all consuming that it even stopped me training and i know that you are quite right in what you have written. I may be seeing a slight light at the end of the tunnel so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Once again thanks for taking time to reply.
P.S I have just read what Meds Michael Jackson was taking for anxiety? Poor poor man.

I love the fact of the age range on here....from 52 to 16...I'm 27 and have been dealing with sleepiness for about a month now. The heat sucks for me.
