I had my first panic attack when I was 8. I managed as best I could until I was 16. That's when I became totally housebound. It got to the point where if people came over, and later even if they called me on the telephone, I'd have a full on 100% panic attack that would last for hours. I'm 36 now and I manage much better now. I'm out everyday, have a full time job and enjoy life the best I can now. I do occasionally still get panic attacks, which are not nearly as severe as they used to be, but it's the constant stress/tension headache/fatigue that kicks my butt now.

I had my first attack when I was 15 after smoking a joint by myself. It was the third time to get high but the 1st time by myself. My heart started beating fast and nobody was there to tell me this is a normal occurance with smoking pot. I started to think I was dying and my heart kept beating harder and faster. I called 911 and have had attacks ever since. This also started the obsessing over my heart. I wish I had never smoked pot!!

I had mine when i was 24, it was in the mid of May 96, when my world completely shut down for the first panic attack. It was late at night and I was lying in my bed having some breathing difficulties, until a point I could feel an extreme sensation, I went to the kitchen and stood by the window, I could not explain exactly what I have felt, but i know that my heart was racing and my head was spinning, as time goes, I develop anxiety symptoms that cant be explained until I knew that I had panic attacks (w/o agro). I suffered for at least 8 mths, enduring the pain was debilitating and I decide to let nature took my heal. Now at 37, I have stricken another attacks on Oct 2010, I have had 8 attacks since then, I have undergone CBT and decided to go on meds, if my sensation persisted.

I had my first panic attack at age 8.  I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking that I was going to get sick.  I never did.  From that night until I was about 14 I had regular panic attacks.  I missed a lot of school, and my mom spent many nights awake with me while I panicked.  I went the rest of my teens and into my early 20s without very many panic attacks.  I would still get anxious at times, but only had a few actual full blown attacks.  My panic attacks came back when I was about 24, and I have been having them pretty regularly ever since.  The symptoms have changed, and are ever changing.  I am now just a few short months from 30.
