I always get OCD before something I look forward to...
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:26:57 AM »
Well, I'll just give you a background on my OCD. It started a couple of years ago with the washing your hands buisness. I got it before Christmas one year because I was really looking forward to it, and I kept washing my hands to make sure I didn't become ill on christmas. Anyway, it all escalated from there. It went from washing my hands to making sure my door was ajar an exact amount. Anyway now I'm taking my GCSE's and I fear that every time I do the slightest thing wrong I'm going to get punished. Like if i was to get a little stressy with my parents for example (bearing in mind I'm stressed as it it!) and so every time I do the slightest thing wrong I pray to God, and I tell him I'm sorry over and over again, and that I'll try not to do it again. It gets to the point where I dread praying :(.

The latest problem is, I was in an exam, and I was stuck on a question (it was a question where you fill in a box with a letter so multiple choice) and I glanced over to my left. Low and behold he's on the same page as me and I saw which letter goes in the box I'm stuck on. At first I wrote it in, and then I scribbled it out, as I feared if I left it there then I would fail the exam as a punishment from God. At the end I thought, this question could cost me, so I went back and filled in the correct answer. Now I am terrified I'm going to get punished, the punishment being I won't be able to study and I will fail my remaining three exams :(.

I know what I did was worng but could you please help me :(.

We are not perfect beings.  God won't punish you for somethings little like that.  He knows we are imperfect and will always sin for the rest of our lives.  Thats why he forgives us.  Because we are not perfect.  He wants you to try the BEST you can to not sin.  But one little thing like that he is not going to punish you for.

It may not seem like it now, but I WILL make it through this.

God does not punish.  He knows you are human, and that's why he sent his son.  It's one thing to live in sin, and another to sin.  You obviously feel guilt, and God WILL forgive you.  God rewards, but he DOES NOT punish.  :)
