Frustration with psychiatrists

I finally get my act together and prepare to go see a psych to help with my meds.  The one I used to see is out of business, the 2 referrals I got we to people who can't see me till August and they don't take my insurance, the ones who do take my insurance are nearly an hour away from me.

I lived in England for a while a year or so ago and I have to tell you that healthcare was so much better.  This is absolute crap.  So my options are to wait 3 months, pay $280 for a visit or drive for an hour.  Seriously- what is wrong with this system!

So now I have decided to go back to my GP and only hope that he has kept up enough in the field of psychotropic drugs and such to be able to make a good recommendation to control the panic attacks that I have had for 3 months.

Good luck!  It sounds like you're in a very frustrating situation.  I've recently found a need to find a psychiatrist in my area, but I can't find one that is on my insurance and available anytime soon.

I hope your GP is able to take care of you.  That's the route that I'm taking to see what happens.
