Not really a symptom, but I isolate myself. I stop calling my friends, I turn down every invitation and stay at home, watching television.  :(

All of it!!!!!! LOL I get a pins and needles feeling up and down my back and arms...that usually starts the cycle or anxiety for me so I have to say that one is one of the worst. The other is the feeling like you need to run away, especially when you cant!

All of them.  Seriously.  Mine like to play musical chairs and come and go.   I hate the palpitations most of all. The other stuff I can deal with (muscle pain, chest pain, dizziness, hot flashes), but the palpitations scare the you know what out of me.

Muscle tension in lower legs sometimes shaky/rubbery
tingling upper body
fatigue
minor muscle twitches
tremors from time to time
It freaks me out and I can't concentrate.  It makes me depressed.  All six doctors say it's my anxiety.

The pounding in my chest. I hate that so much. I feel jittery, but only on the inside. My hands do not shake. I just shake on the inside. I can't explain it. Only people with anxiety understand what I am talking about. Until that feeling goes away I cannot do or concentrate on anything. It is so awful for me. When I am out or with anyone and this happens, I am so sure people think I am crazy.

fatigue, flushing, headaches, rapid heart rate, muscle tightness (arms), pounding in my chest, chest pain, difficulty breathing, shoulder/back/neck pain, constant butterflies in my stomach, (which leads to) nausea, stomach issues, pins & needles sensation in hands/feet, and depersonalization...

Also, loved ones are often the victim of my short-tempered nature when I am anxiety-ridden.    :-* :angel-smiley-006:

Depersonalization. I can't stand feeling like I have no control over my own body.
Brain fog. Might be my allergies causing this, but I can't stand it.
Fatigue. I have it 24/7. I hate it.
Feeling like I'm gonna faint. It happens when I'm about to walk into a crowded store. omg it's the worst.

Yes I agree this is a terrible one.

For me I'd say the worst symptom of panic attacks, would be the idea that I am convinced I am dying. I want to run for help or to a hospital, or tell my friends and coworkers I love them before I go.
Living with anxiety...if I knew I was safe 100% which we all dont think that way...it'd be okay.

It is so called out-of-body experience, the feeling when you almost feel nothing. No pain,no sadness,no anger. It's like you're in some other body, and you don't control anything.
Hope description helped  :action-smiley-065:

Sometimes when I'm feeling anxious I get stuck on this terrible existential thought process of thinking how bizarre and insane this reality and world is.  I'm surrounded by screens or fiction all the time (I'm the webmaster/internet marketer for a book publisher) so sometimes I get disconnected from reality.  When I'm feeling anxious I start thinking about how insane all of this is and if I keep thinking that way it turns into a weird fit where I feel like my head is going to explode and everything seems even more unreal.  It's really terrifying.

I've been suffering from depersonalization disorder on a 24/7 basis for the past ten years.  Living in a dream like state for this long does not help matters at all.

Most annoying anxiety symptoms...

Hmmm... Where to begin?

Panic Attacks:

Depersonalization, dizziness, shortness of breath, the feeling of passing out, numbness of fingers/arms, hot flashes/cold chills, heart palpitations, confusion, and the two days that follow feeling like crap.

These are generally the symptoms I have during a panic attack, I don't always have all of them, my attacks like to surprise me, but any one of them is especially scary.

General Anxiety:

Foggy, off-balance, rapid heart beat, feeling of something crawling on my skin, feeling like I could jump out of my my skin, jittery, no attention span, cannot sit still, nausea, insomnia.

These are my general symptoms just for "everyday anxiety" without panic.

I find that taking an Ativan before the onset of panic (I can usually feel it coming on, whenever I am especially nervous, or whenever I am put into a social situation) which is a great help to curbing my anxiety and panic attacks. I have far fewer attacks since I have learned what triggers my anxiety and use it as a preventative measure.

They are all annoying. The most annoying thing for me is waking up with a different manifestation every day. One day its fatigue, the next day its rapid heart beat or feeling faint. I wonder what its going to be today. If it was consistent I think I could deal with it better.

Others I can't stand...

ear ringing (tinnitus)
dizziness
trichotillomania (maybe not a symptom, but something I do during an attack)
confusion
loss of concentration / motivation

I am pretty jealous of people that don't have to deal with these things every day.

The worst for me is whatever the symptom of the day happens to be!  If i have chest pains, I miss the dizzyness, if I'm dizzy, I wish I'd just be jittery....UGHHHH...

What are your most annoying anxiety symptoms?

I thought we could all talk about this, 1 so we can get it out of system - no matter how embarrassing it is, and 2 so we can relate to eachother and know that a lot of our symptoms are really common!

For me: DEPERSONALIZATION.
This is my most difficult and annoying symptom. This is the most bothersome and I hope to find a cure for this symptom! I will be really relieved.

I think it has produced other symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and confusion.

~Des (FaithInGod)

my friend. if you ever want your anxiety to go away, don't open threads like this. why do you think about it so much? have you ever considered that the very act of thinking about anxiety is that makes it last in your life? GAD is self-created.

this thread is almost like : what's your favourite symptom of anxiety?

best wishes to you

For me, Depersonalization is the worst.  When I feel like I'm not in any realty, the rest of the symptoms follow very quickly and hit hard.  Sometimes I feel that if I can somehow get of this biggie, I could be rid of panic - although I know that it isn't so.  It's nice to wish I guess  :)
