You probably won't "care less" if you end up with liver failure, or any other alcohol related disease...BTW, alcohol causes anxiety/depression/panic...if you continue you to drink, you have ZERO chance of recovery from any of the above disorders...

I should say alcohol abuse either causes or contributes to anxiety disorders...

Drinking doesn't make reality disappear.  Its back when you sober up.  And then you feel worse than you did before you started drinking because the alcohol probably caused you to do or say something that you regret or not show up for work and that could possibly do irrevocable damage to your life.  It's not worth it.  Its better to face reality and have a life than to run away from it with booze and have a really bad life.
