Muscle twitches/spasms
« on: April 06, 2009, 08:47:33 PM »
Hi

I havent posted here for a long time, but now unfortunately I've reason to be back. For the last couple of months Ive been noticing that a muscle on the inside of my left foot constantly twitches. I can see it moving when im sitting or lying down and not particularly worried about anything. I also have TMJ difficulties. What scares me is that my grandad died from MS.Could this be related or down to anxiety? Please help im absolutely terrified. :traurig001:

Do you know how many folks on here twitch?  Wow most of us do.  Put twitching in the search bar and you will find a bunch of threads about it.  Twitching is quite common with anxiety.  Shoot I've been twitching off/on for 12yrs.  I've had two brain MRI--'97 and '09.  No MS.

Re the bump.  Could be a callus?

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.
