Important Question about hullicinations...
« on: September 19, 2006, 09:52:46 AM »
Hey guys,
After being prescribed Lexipro, I stopped taking my Zoloft, which my father apparantly begain taking after self diagnosing himself with clinical depression. He'd taken half of one (25 MG, I believe) one night, and then none the second night, but a full one last night. Then, my dog had woken him, and he begain to hallucinate. After doing some research, I found that it may have been a 'hypnagogic hallucination', which is a hallucination you have after being woken. But, it said it could last seconds or minutes. My dad said he was seeing things for more than an hour, I believe... (such as the fan streching, a little girl talking to my dog, ect) He still feels bad, and is clammy and everything seems 'dreamlike' to him. he drinks as well, but he wasn't drunk. (I don't think) So, I was wondering if him taking my medication could have anything to do with this. I looked it up, and there was nothing about hallucinations on the Zoloft website. He's going to the doctor at three, but I'm very concerned now. What could be wrong with him? If anyone has any ideas, please tell me as soon as possible.
        Thanks
