One "Community Greeter" Position Available
« on: March 19, 2009, 06:44:26 PM »
Greetings Anxiety Zone Members

One member is currently needed to fill a unique role on the forum as a Community Greeter. Here is your opportunity to give back to your community in an important way by greeting new members and welcoming them to Anxiety Zone.

Applicants will be responsible for the very important role of greeting new members as soon as they post and for making them feel welcome. This means frequently seeking out any unanswered first posts on a regular basis and responding to them promptly. This should be done as often as possible each day so that no posts from new members ever go unanswered for very long. Even if the new member asks a question or addresses an issue that you are unfamiliar with and you are not quite sure what to say or how to respond, sometimes just a simple "Hi. Welcome to Anxiety Zone. We are glad you are here!" (or similar greeting) will go a long way toward making the new member feel welcome and comfortable here.

Most completely new members will make their first post in the "Introduce Yourself" forum so this is the place to watch but the other forums are important also as not all new members post in just the "Introduce Yourself" forum.

In addition to providing them with a hearty welcome, it is also a nice touch to point out to them that they can use the search feature to find the information they are looking for or provide them with a link to a post or the name of another member with a similar issue.

Community Greeters will have their own membergroup, five blue stars and will be identifiable in the forums under the name "Community Greeter". This position requires that potential applicants be mature, possess good people/communication skills and above all, promptness in responding to new member's posts. Unlike a Moderator role, this position consists exclusively of greeting new members identifiable by the title "Just Joined!".

If you are interested in volunteering for this position, please use this thread to post a little about yourself and why you are interested in the role -or- you are welcome to contact GreyGoose discreetly via private message (in your profile).

Thanks in advance for your participation and for your interest in becoming a staff member in YOUR community! :happy0151:

Contrary to popular belief, we do not get blue vests or rolls of smiley face stickers, but it's an important job none the less.

'Tis okay though because I've read stories about small children choking on those smiley face stickers...now as long as I don't get stuck on shopping cart duty I'll be just fine.
