Yellow Stool?
« on: March 15, 2009, 05:37:11 AM »
hello, I am 19 years old and I have been having yellow stool off and on for the last year or so. (So if it was anything serious I would have known about it by now) The stool itself is not fatty as seen in steatorrhea, is consistent, and will come and go about once every two weeks. I don't drink or smoke. I was looking for possible explanations for this. I am not too concerned since I haven't lost any weight nor am I jaundiced or anything of the nature. I mean, I don't even know if I should get tested since my doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. (he was more concerned with my anxiety and hypochondria at the time since I was freaking out about pancreatic cancer)

Also, does anyone else get this?

Ahhhh the unusual world of poo.  As long as it's not red I don't worry.  It could be just about anything, but nothing to worry about.

I read online somewhere that yellow stool can mean increased transit time out of the body.So if you are feeling anxious , you can maybe have yellow stool . I know it happens to me every once in a while too, when I get anxious or stressed about something

Yellow stools may indicate that food is passing through the digestive
tract relatively quickly. You may also get yellow stools from GERD.
If your doctor says don't worry, I would not worry. If your stool
was yellow constantly, than I would call your physician.
