Suport Groups?
« on: March 01, 2009, 10:45:43 AM »
I am hoping that someone has some advice for me.

I am currently living in London and was thinking that perhaps it might be worth while to go and join some form of a support group. I don't really know where to begin looking - or if these kind of things exist.

I have been suffering on an off for 2 years with various anxiety and depression issues.
Whilst its great to take medication and whatnot - I really don't want it to rule my life forever.
I really feel like chatting to others who share the same problems might allow me to move on.

I think I have come a long way over the past two years - but I really think that medication is a short term solution for me.
I guess its also a judgement thing on my behalf - obviously alot of people are not as accepting as some when it comes to treating yourself with medication for mental illness... I guess they wouldn't have the same things to say to someone who needed to take their meds to treat their diabetes.

So getting back to the reason why i wrote this...
It's just hard feeling along sometimes.
So if anyone has any information to offer me that would be great.
