All-New Forum Categories And More!
« on: January 02, 2009, 05:12:56 PM »
Greetings Anxiety Zone Members!

I am pleased to announce the addition of three brand new forum categories. These new categories are focused on conditions that are often comorbid to anxiety-related disorders which simply means that people who suffer from anxiety-related disorders are very likely to also suffer from these other conditions as well. In no particular order (drum-roll please) here are the new categories...

Sleep Disorders:

Discussion of Sleep Disorders. Sleep disorders often coexist in individuals with anxiety-related disorders, due to the condition itself, as a side affect of treatment or as a result of addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Here we focus on Insomnia (inability to get to sleep, stay asleep or waking too early), Nightmares, Sleep Terrors, Sleep Paralysis, Sleepwalking, Restless Legs Syndrome, Sleep Apnea and Periodic Limb Movement Disorder.

Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS):

Discussion of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Fibromyalgia causes tiredness, muscle pain and "tender points." Tender points are areas of the neck, shoulders, back, hips, legs or arms that are painful when touched. Individuals with fibromyalgia often experience other symptoms as well, including difficulty sleeping, morning stiffness, headaches and problems with thinking clearly or remembering things (sometimes called "fibro fog"). Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) include fatigue and other symptoms such as muscle pain, memory problems, headaches, joint pain, sleeping difficulties, sore throat and tender lymph nodes.

Digestive Disorders:

Discussion of Digestive Disorders. Conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Gastritis and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) often occur in people diagnosed with anxiety disorders. In addition to these conditions, please feel free to discuss other gastrointestinal conditions such as Lactose Intolerance, Heartburn, Ulcerative Colitis, Peptic Ulcers and Crohn’s Disease.

Also, there is a brand new version of the blogging software used on Anxiety Zone which was just released about a week ago. It hasn't been installed yet because there are still a few kinks that need to be ironed out but it looks really good!.

Finally, it has occurred to me that perhaps it's time for a new theme. Something new and different. What do you think?. There are a number of other things on the agenda too as we enter the new year. I just hope I can find the time and energy to get it all done!.

Have a great day everyone and Happy New Year! :action-smiley-065:

I just have this feeling that there's going to be some out there that won't like the pills where the stars used to be...there's a lot of anti med people out there now, and I just wonder how they're going to feel about it.

Good point. I had been somewhat apprehensive about the pills myself but thought it might be worth a test-run anyway. I've just replaced the pills with stethoscopes so that ought to work a bit better for everyone :)
