IBS insantiy - HELP STOP THE MADNESS
« on: August 24, 2006, 10:54:21 AM »
IBS had to be one of the worst things to deal with when you are a Hypo. It manifests itself in so many different ways at different times for varying amounts of time.

Now am concentrating on stomach cancer. Obsessed with it. Which of course makes my stomach worse from the stress.

Being like this is so exhausting.

Madman,

Sorry you are dealing with this,  I am sure this is all related to stress, IBS and stress are are a problem for me too.
I gets so much worse the more I worry about it, turns into a terrible cycle.  One making the other one worse.  Mine got so bad a couple of years ago, I worked myself into a colon cancer freak out.  Got the colonoscopy and everything was fine, was able to calm down and the IBS stopped.  Then I moved on the other issues (ovarian cancer and breast cancer).

I totally agree this is so exhausting, I am so tired of the constant worrying and anxiety, I just want to stop fearing the future and enjoy living in the here and now.

Thanks for the feed back. Sorry to hear you go through this, too. My partner is getting pretty tired of this as well. We have been together going on 7 years but of late it has gotten to point where I panic and am sure I have some sort of horrible gastro cancer.

This bout has been constant upset stomach so of course I assume it is stomach cancer. I have myself so worried it is unreal. I get more worried and more stressed every time. Thing is I eat fruits and vegetables 80% of my diet and very little meat. Stomach cancer does not run in my family.

TO be honest I think I may have an ulcer because 4 years ago I was positive for H-Pylori. Though I took the antibiotics I was never retested. Because the symptoms I had then went away but returned a few years later.

Madman,

Hello. I've never been diagnosed with IBS and my tummy is mostly OK now unless I drink coffee, but when my anxiety was worse in the past I experienced some extreme intestinal problems. I remember being out in a store and having a panic attack and the pain in my stomach would be so severe that I would have to crouch down and pretend to be looking at something on a lower shelf because I couldn't stand up straight. If I started to feel anxious or panicky I would go from being fine to having severe diarrhea within a couple of minutes. Your mind has some serious power to mess with your body. Now that my anxiety level is down I don't experience these symptoms much anymore, but I remember it well and my heart goes out to you that you have to deal with this.
