Screw the Internet and Happy Holidays!!

OK first of all let me say this... Happy Holidays to every one on here that gives such great advice and medical help. Next on my agenda, SCREW THE NET when looking for medical help. 9 weeks ago I found a small pea sized Lump on the right side of my neck and PANIC ensued. I went to 2 different doctors at my college and then I even went to my family doctor and got blood work. The reason that I would not believe my doctors when they told me that it was nothing was because if you read the signs and symptoms online about lymphoma it all sounds terrible!! Some sites even say "DONT BELIEVE YOUR DOCTOR, BELIEVE YOURSELF GET A 2ND 3RD OR EVEN 4TH OPINION!!" that is Bull&^0213*. Now I actually AM on my 4th doctor who ALSO thinks that my pea sized lymph node (which has gotten a little larger since I have not stopped touching it) said that since it moves, is soft, and is still only pea sized that it is NOT cancer and since I also dont have other symptoms that I am fine. He then put me on a mild prescription for Prozac because we both felt that I have hypochondria and anxiety and depression. I am going back to him in a month and we will check my lymph node again. Im just here today to tell a lot of people who are looking for what they could possibly have by looking online STOP! go to a doctor and let THEM tell you BEFORE you look online, it is because of what I read online that I lost faith in Doctors and their diagnoses. Hopefully, all 4 doctors and my blood work are not lying to me!!! haha Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and whatever else you may celebrate!

Trust your doctor(s).  You'll save a lot of time and money.  If four doctors all agree that you're fine and you're still having a hard time believing it, that pretty much proves you have hypochondria by default.  It's rare that even one doctor is wrong, let alone four.  Seems you're figuring it all out and that's a big step.

I have like, 4 or 5 lumps in my neck...they are all free floating, so I guess they are just lymph nodes, but they used to freak me out. Never went to the doc, though, cause they had been there for so long. Nothing to worry about, I'm sure.
