Weird pressure in my head
« on: November 12, 2008, 04:58:33 PM »
So heres the problem, I've been experiencing this weird head pressure. I'm not sure where it came from but the feeling is an on and off one. It disappeared for a few weeks and now its back. This morning I was walking out the front door and Wham there it was just hitting me, interrupting my thoughts. When it comes on it really throws me off. What ever I was saying I forget and if I'm walking and it hits me I zone out. Somebody help me out with this. Tell me that theres somebody out there that has experienced this. It would really help. Thanks for listeining.

SHORTY:
I have the same problem during the Winter months.  For a few years I thought I was having a sinus problem, but a couple of years ago I had a reaction to the antiobiotic cipro and had a major panic attack and problems that continued for a couple of months.  I reviewed my situation and now think that it has all been stress related and I have had to acknowledge that I have SAD (Winter Depression).  I don't usually have the problems in the Spring and Summer, but they start coming back every year around Sept. and usually peak during the Holidays (darkest days of the year)

My take on it is that I have always been an anxious person and as years have progressed, it has gotten worse.  Sometimes I think that stress-related hyperventilation is part of the cause.  Try googling for breathing exercises.  Sometimes they can help.  When we get stressed out we can gain bad breathing habits and not realize it.

Hang in there.  Feeling the pressure in your head sucks and it can really impact your day if you want to do anything except sit.
