Typically yes.  MS leaves "plaque" on your brain that looks like white spots on an MRI.  You are fine.

I was told last week that my MRI was perfectly clear meaning that there was no sign of tumor or any other neurological disorders.

So, time to take a deep breath and smile....we're okay.

Actually, the answer is "sort-of."  If the MS is not active at the moment, then the white plaques will not be present.  I.e.  if there are no symptoms at the time of the MRI, then it may not show up.  However, if you were having symptoms at the time and it still didn't show, then you are probably okay.

I think the dye that they run is used to check for clots/strokes...not so much ms or brain tumors.  Those tend to show up as white masses or spots on the brain.  I could be wrong, but this is what I seem to remember from my brain tumor freakouts.

They did my MRI with and without contrast (the dye stuff) I'm not sure exactly what the dye is for, I'm assuming it has something to do with your circulation.  I just know they did mine this way because of my headaches, it's the only symptom I had.

Even if you aren't having any symptoms the white lesions might still show up because of previous incidents.  But for the most part, if you have a clean MRI you can be pretty sure that you don't have MS.

I think with medical advancements...MS is not as horrid as it used to be.  It is sill something I would not want..but I would take it over ALS anyday...Try not to worry so much about MS...
