Zoloft withdrawal question
« on: August 14, 2006, 06:28:33 AM »
Today has been 15 days that I stooped zoloft cold turkey after being 3 months using it.
The weird sensations started 9 days after I stopped.

It feels like some strange dizziness when I move my head side to side or just comes out of no where. Other symptoms that are strange to explain but it just feels weird on my head.

Has anybody experienced this smiths, I have a doctors appointment in 10 days but I am wondering if I go earlier, I am a little concern about this.

Any comments will be appreciated or how long more can I be experiencing this smiths.

Thanks

Do you recommend me to stick it without it or to go back and wean it off based on your experience. Anything that I can take to ease the symptoms?

Thanks

bcrazy,

I would like to ask you a question. Today I went to the doctor and explain to him that I decided to stop the zoloft.
Like what I was expecting he did not liked it at all, in other words he basically told me to see another doctor for another opinion and suggestions. He says that I am hypochondriac and that I need to mainting the zoloft for long period or for life.

Now about a week after I stopped the zoloft I am experiencing weird side effects like dizziness when I move my neck or eyes but it is something I can not really explain how I fee. When I told him that he said that he was not able to
comment in that that he can not state that is a zoloft effect.

Now I am concern about that if is zoloft side effect or if it will be persistant or it will go away. I am now 30 days after I stopped.

Any opinion will be appreciated.

Thanks

When I went off of several different antidepressant I usually weaned my self off slowly.   I stll had what felt like waves of dizziness wash over me.  It lasted a few weeks but maybe since you went cold turkey it is taking your body longer to adjust.  These meds are nasty to get on and nasty to get off.

I must say I have been taking Zoloft for a while it has been helping with the panic attacks.  My only problem right now is that I a having these weird MS feelings like weakness in the arms and legs, tinglng in the fingers and toes, burning sensations in arms and feet, a buzzing in some muscles.   All of these systems come and go.  I am not sure if they are from the meds but they are very scary.   I do also take 1 mg of clonopin and some ambien to help me sleep.  Does any body have any thoughts about this?

Thanks,

Cin

I was dizzy for a long time. I went off Paxil in March and still have dizziness. Is it from Paxil withdrawal or anxiety...the answer is anxiety. For awhile I could blame it on Paxil but now it only happens when I'm driving down the road and think "hmm, i haven't been dizzy for awhile now. Maybe I'm getting kinda dizzy now...Gosh, my eyes are really getting blurry! Oh, i think i may pass out!" Seriously...that is how my symptoms start! It sucks! So, if Zoloft is working for you, go for it and use it. I didn't want Paxil in my body! Don't allow your doctor to make you feel any worse than you already do!
