Bumpy Roads
« on: October 26, 2008, 02:37:07 PM »
Hi Everyone, this is Dimeshorty,

I have a hard time getting onto buses as some of you know me from the Chatroom. Cars are even worse. I've been making some progress on the bus by bringing along a journal or playing a game in my phone to help distract me from the ride. So you probably want to know what the heck is the fear that I have? Well in a nut shell I have a fear of getting into an accident. Its so weird because everything bothers me about the ride, such things as speed of the bus is a problem. If we hit a bump in the road that really shakes me up. Its like this weird sensitivity to the ride that I have. Lately its been better but there are still certain places I won't go like to the City. New York City that is. So can you guess why this would be a problem? THE SUBWAY! I hate the fact that this anxiety has spread to me fearing getting into any form of transportation. Hey guys what do u think?

hey d.shorty! :action-smiley-065:
Well i think in the time that we have talked you have made incredible progress, so i hope you are very proud of yourself. I find it super hard that you live in the Big apple and most people do take public transportation there. But you aretaking it step byu step, so continue doing so, and I hope that you eventually find yourself fearless of it. I wish you all the best!! You keep fighting=)
