Newbie Intro
« on: October 22, 2008, 05:23:33 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm so glad to find a forum like this. I believe I have GAD, because I seem to be worried about everything, whether present, past, or future. Even when there's nothing to worry about and life seems to be going pretty well, my mind will FIND something to worry about, or I feel like I'm always waiting for the bottom to drop out. I don't have any health insurance so I can't get treatment right now.
I am divorced and have 5 great kids. I have a wonderful man in my life and we plan to get married next year.

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Hey Becky,
I am a newbie too, I suffer from panic and anxiety disorder, I cant get treatment either because I have the fear of panic when I get into the car to go to the doctors office.  I know how you feel with your worrying too, I worry alot, mostly about my son, since i have had this disorder I havent been able to be the mom I want to be, I mean I cant even take him outside because Im afraid I will have an attack.  Im glad there are other people we can talk to, feel free to msg me anytime, Im a good listener!  Take care!

OMG, I have the same problem too, I thought I was alone, I often worry about the future, even when i have no problems and having a good time my mind just wanders and start to fret about tomorrow. When I mention it to my friends they look at me as if I am a crazy person.

Welcome to the forum.  I've been on here for a couple of months and it has been a Godsend.  I have met so many people here that suffer from the same conditions I do and it really makes it nice that people can "relate" to what you are feeling.  There are so many people on here that are helpful.  If you search for a topic in the search bar, you are sure to find posts on anything that you could be feeling at the moment.  Also, join the chat and the users in the chat room are always willing to talk to you.  Again, Welcome and I hope this forum helps you find comfort like it did me.

Hi everyone.  I'm new here and need to say I feel the same way, I worry about everything, I'm already worrying about getting my paycheck right before Christmas and my employers pay for my health ins. which will be due 1/1/09 and I'm worrying about getting that around the holidays.  I know it sounds stupid but this will turn into a major thing.  These are the things I worry about, and when I tell family how I feel they just say, don't worry, lol, like yea right.  It just seems to make it worse, because they don't understand that feeling of dread and doom and that weird feeling in your stomach and it just starts to consume you.  Ok I know I'm rambling, lol.  I just wanted to say that I know I'm not alone feeling these things and I'm glad others can understand this. :winking0008:

hi! im new myself and since i have been on this board i have been a little more comfortable with things. i go through the same things. worrying about stuff that i shouldnt, always wanting to stay inside in fear if i leave the house i will get overwhelmed and have an attack. as far as having no medication all you need to do is think about the advice people give you.someone once said to me "always think to yourself this too shall pass" and as silly as it sounds i think of that and start doing something else to distract my other thoughts and most of the time it helps. but everyone here is going through the same things you and thats why we are on here.it helps to talk and share our stories with people who are dealing with the same issues.
