Anyone else PETROFIED of bugs???

I just saw a bug with lots of legs on my boss's door and I'm so so scared!  I tried to kill it but missed and now it dissappeared and I don't want it to get on me!  Now I can't concentrate and now its gonna take days to not remember the bug.  I'm so so scared!  Am I alone or is anyone else very very afraid of bugs?

Oh thank goodness...  I saw it in my bosses office and I told him and he squashed it and I tried to get him to step on it twice but he didn't but it was dead just the same.  I wasn't planning on showing that nutty  side of me to the people here at the office but I was acting really nutty!  But its dead now and I'm so very happy!   :)

I had a beetle experience...I have long thick black curly hair...I got 5 of these finger sized black beetles flew into my hair and I couldnt get them out, my sister couldnt see them cause they matched my hair.  I was 11 years old and after that I was terrified of any beetle any size. 

One guy in high school didnt believe me and chased me with a palm sized beetle in a can and I lost it!!!  I ran with all my might, I screamed and was a complete freak.  He dropped the can and caught me and apologized...he had no idea a person could be that afraid.

I have been working on my anxiety for soo many years...I have destressed my life in any way I could find.  The less stress the less anxiety.  I am the queen of broken record, watching video of something that happened that bothers me OVER< and over and over, cant sleep, cant medatate etc..

I am no longer afraid of beetles.  I can have them near me and I'm ok.  Even the ones that got in my hair,   OK they cant be on me

Apple, thanks for the information and your experience.  Kudos for you getting over your fear of beetles.  I wish I could not be afraid anymore.

did something happen to cause your fear?  My Mom actually did hypnotherapy to discover where the root lied with her fear of moths.

No nothing in particular from what I can remember.  I'm just scared of lots of things!  I guess I'm like a chicken LOL    I'm really scared of bugs, all of them!  Sometimes if I think about them I freak out at the prospects that one day I'm going to see one again!  Especially if I think of it getting on me.  I'm scared of all rodents even pet ones.  Just thinking about it right now is giving me the willies!!!

I don't have any bug phobias, but the are creepy little bastards though!  Yesterday I caught a brown furry spider (about the size of a fingernail) on the inside pant leg at work.  THANKFULLY no one was around because I limped out holding the pant leg with the spider in it in my hand.  Stripped in the bathroom and proceeded to kill it horribly. 

Like I said, no huge phobia, but insects can get the best of all of us!

(I now hang my pants up at night instead of laying them on the counter).

I feel that same way about spiders....I panic if I see one and someone isn't there to kill it for me.  And if it disappears, that's even worse....as long as I can see it, and it isn't moving, then I can deal for a little bit....but one night a spider was on my pillow, then it went down behind the bed....I made my husband move the bed out, look for it....he couldn't find it, and I couldn't sleep for fear it would crawl on me in the night.  When I was about 6 or so, I had a bad experience with a spider.  I was sitting on the toilet with my flannel pajamas on....a huge, brown wolf spider crawled up the pant leg of my pajamas, and I couldn't get it out.....I was screaming hysterically, my mom had to come in and help......ever since then, I can't handle them.....

i live in ireland at the moment its the time of year where spiders come into the house out of the rain . last night i woke and saw this massive spider on my rug. went downstairs got a cup and put it over him because no way was i goin to move him! then i couldnt sleep kept waking up and staring at the cup on the floor. got up this morning after a restless nights sleep and the cup was gone. i completly freaked out turns out my dad picked it up and threw him out. but just couldnt stop thinkin of him all mornin so dont feel so bad alot of people are petrified of spiders i thin its called arachnaphobia

I live in a house that has not only Wolf Spiders in the fall but Brown Recluse spiders all spring summer and fall.  I spent nearly two years half out of my mind with fear.  Sprays don't kill them, so I lined half my house with glue traps, (caught lots of spiders and my mini doxie several times as well.)  I discovered that after a couple of years, my fear began to abate.  It was almost as though my anxiety level built to such a point, that I could no longer maintain it, and I began to adjust to the fear.  I'm still afraid of them, but it's now a reasonable fear, (maybe not with the big hairy wolfies, funny though, they may look scary but aren't really dangerous at all.)  I found a recluse hunting ants in my kitchen under the counter television and never did get it.  It crawled into the vent in the tv and I must admit I'm very careful reaching for anything around the TV.  I sure don't want to get bit by something that toxic.

Completely.. but I have a very big phobia of grasshoppers. I don't know why, but I do, and it's so disturbing. When I see one, i feel physically sick and afraid. I can't even think about them, because when I do (like now), I get so disgusted and ugh, I want to throw up. There's no word to explain how it feels really, except uhguhgugh... I'm like wringing my hands now, so I'm going to stop.

I HATE spiders and snakes!  We get wolf spiders in our house and they freak me out.  I've turned my husband into a spider slayer!  I come running screaming...SPIDER, SPIDER!  He grabs the bug smacker and off he goes to slay the spider!  I can kill them too but I need a really big shoe or the bug smacker so I don't have to get close.  I don't just hit them once either...it's a total annihilation!  Spider parts go flying!  I can't watch a show or anything on them cuz then I have nightmares.  I once stayed at a friends in a basement bedroom and I could see them lining up along the walls!  It totally creeped me out and I was so afraid that it took me forever to get up the courage to leave the room...which I finally did and ran like the hell was chasing me! I don't know if I have a phobia but I sure don't like the 8 legged creepers!
