anyone familiar
« on: October 12, 2008, 09:10:51 AM »
Apparently I have had a sinus infection for the last month, without being treated, UNTIL 6 days ago (Monday). Told the Doc, had terrible headaches, they left, had strange feelings all throughout the left side of my head (front and back) - (bug crawling feelings, hair moving feelings, numbness, tingling), and that lasted a short period of time, maybe 4 or 5 days. Then I get this feeling of someTHING trying to push out of my left cheek bone, but it comes nad goes throughout the day. I dont constantly feel it. But when I do feel it, and I lean over to the floor with my head, it feels like theres like water in there moving back and forth in my left cheek bone, just under my eye. Last weekend, it got red, and so did my eye. My eye is affected by this a little bit. I may have had some jaw pain for a few days, early on in this problem, but not currently. My current symptoms that are bothering me for the last few days, are: That strange pushing feeling under my left eye, in the corner of my cheek bone towards my nose -A cold or hot sensation that comes on and goes on all parts of my face- a head pain that comes and goes throughout the day. Mentally I feel better from the medication that I am taking, BUT these symptoms just wont leave. Now how long does a sinus infection tend to last, wihle being treated for a minimal of 5 days ? Is this a sinus infection (it is according to my doctor) but my doubts are a tumor, aids, or something else terrible. Whats peoples opinions on my question of the same thing for the third time ? lol, please anyone who can reply or relate to this, do so.  ;D

I get a sinus infection in the late winter every year like clockwork.  It probably lasts about a week but I swear it feels like forever.  As gross as this is, a tell tale sign of sinus infection is green snot...that is, when you can actually get enough pressure released to actually blow your nose.

i dont have any mucus or anything, from my throat or my nose.. all i have are headaches, and the strange pushing feeling under my left eye, along with wierd crawling feeligs on my head in different areas.. its really wierd, i dont know how the doctor can just say its a sinus infection.... i dont have any pain when i push on my cheek bone, its not tender, nothing like that... it only turned red and a little puffy for that one day last weekend. My nose is stuffed and what not but this feeling is so wierd... if its not a sinus infection then it HAS TO BE something like a brain tumor or like the first stage of aids or something, lol seriously, ive had this for over a month.. and this constant feeling of pressure under my eye for 2 weeks. i head sinus infections untreated can last for like 8 weeks, i have no clue though.

I always get right into my doc for antibiotics when I feel it coming on because I hate sinus infections worse than anything in the world, they just make me miserable.  So I have no idea how long it might last if not treated.

I really doubt that it's anything like a brain tumor or aids, but it may be TMJ.  It's a very common condition usually stemming from inflamation in your jaw bone.  I found out I had TMJ as a teenager when I went to the dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed and couldn't close my jaw right for the next 3 months.  There's also a condition linked to fibromyalgia that my mother has called myofacial pain syndrome, areas of her face ache all of the time with no real known cause.  The good news is that neither one of those conditions are fatal.

I went through a brain tumor phase and I had cyberchondria about it big time, what finally convinced me that I did not have it was my lack of seizures.  From everything I read seizure was the first sign of tumor in most of the people diagnosed.  I've never had the HIV scares.  Probably because I'm married to a military man who gets tested once every 3 years and I haven't been with anyone else in 10 years....

If you're going to feel like using google to look up any diseases today, look up TMJ and myofacial pain syndrome.  And then relax.  Hope you feel better soon.

The body is constantly changing, with hormone fluctuations, you never really know what you're going to get.  Your uncle may be right!! :)
