Shaky Feeling While Lying in Bed
« on: October 08, 2008, 10:01:05 AM »
When I am in bed, sometimes I get a shaky feeling. It feels like either the bed is shaking or my head is shaking. Usually this happend when I wake up in the early morning hours. I wake up and feel the shaking and then it goes away after a minute.

I do have anxiety which maybe is causing this.

Also, the first time I felt this was when we had a 5.6 earthquake here in Indiana. Since earthquakes are so rare, it freaked me out big time. Then at work the next day we had an aftershock and I felt that too. That night, when I laid down, I felt the shaking again but it wasn't from an earthquake. Now I get is every so often.

I'm wondering if somehow the earthquake set this off and now it's all in my head? Of maybe I am just over sensitive to these shaking feelings and I am picking up on the slightest vibrations?

Just from your intro, sounds like you are having night terror attacks.
Not uncommon.
After a few moments of falling asleep, your brain goes into REM and you dream your first dream segment. You will have several through the night, like a triple feature movie or whatnot.

Maybe when you wake, you still have feelings of this terror, and it affects you physically then.

I too wake up with what I call "tremors" .  They wake me up in the middle of the night sometimes and the first thing in the morning.  I've always associated mine with anxiety.

After twelve years of therapy my psychiatrist said something that brought tears to my eyes. He said, "No hablo ingles."
