I'm New and have a few questions!
« on: August 05, 2006, 12:58:45 PM »
My name is Jake and I'm 19.

I was diagnosed with severe anxiety like 4 years ago when I was 15 (When it got worse)..... but I can remember having anxiety as far back as like 10 when I moved from one house to another. Four years ago I was on Zoloft. After like two years I stopped taking it because it fully didn't work. During that time my neighbor who I used to talk to everyday was sent to a nursing home so things werrn't the same

I took it again for a few months this past winter but it had some bad side effects (made my hands and legs tingle)

Well my anxierty is worse now. It's like all day lasting though sometimes not as bad. But I start panicking, shaking, getting dizzy, thinking too much, worrying, and it bothers me so much it's hard to concentrate on anything. When I get sick, it makes my anxiety worse, because I start thinking it's some extreme disease, even if it's the common cold.

This week has been bad, I feel tense, and I just can't sit still and I worry about anything I can think of. At night my anxiety doesn't bother me as bad. My sleeping schedule sucks. And sometimes I don't even feel comfortable leaving my room. Even at a computer desk I can't sit still. There's been a lot of changes in my life and I just feel like everything has changed.

Make is simpler, here's some things that make my anxiety worse
- Big open places
- Crowded traffic when I'm driving, even if I'm not
- Being places I don't usually go
- Crowded buildings\
- Leaving my house
- Being outside during sunny weather
- Thinking about how my life is nowadays
- And just anytime I can get an anxiety attack

Does anyone know what type of anxiety this is and is there any other good treatmont besides Zoloft?

I also have a lot more things to say about why my life has changed and what I don't like about it, and I can discuss it in e-mail.

Thanks,
Jake
