anxiety and digestive disorders...
« on: September 15, 2008, 06:09:13 PM »
hey guys!  hope is well!  i haven't posted for a long time, and that's probably more a good thing for me.  :)  not that i don't miss you guys!  okay.  so here is my question.  ever since i had anxiety (15 years) i have also had upper abdominal problems.  they come and go, just like the anxiety.  it always feels full and bloated, whether i eat or don't.  feels like i'm carrying around a cantalope in my upper belly and it even effects my deep breaths.  i'm ALWAYS burping, and don't get a ton of relief from it, and i also suffer from mild IBS.  it's just weird that it comes and goes.  i remember a three year period when i barely had any of these symptoms at all.  oh!  and my diet hasn't changed at all either.  i went to two different GI docs, just to make sure.  i had a barium swallow, h pyloir tests, AND an upper GI.  OF COURSE....NOTHING!!!!!!!  so, what was my question again?  lol.  i just want to know if anybody else has had fullness, belching, bloating, feels like you can't even take a deep breath because of it.

thanks!

it's just that it feels SOOOO abnomal, like it CAN'T be caused by anxiety alone.  know what i mean?  has anybody else had similar problems with digestive disorders from anxiety/depression?

any replies would be greatly appreciated.  :)

I have had problems in the past - PROBIOTICS - they have changed my life - get one that is kept in the frig and has active live cultures

I like the brand Mega Flora - they can be expensive but like I said - changed my life - I always had to know where the bathroom was - no more

I had the same problems as you. I been through all the test and the only thing i have is GERD.  They told me it's my gerd causing most of my pain but they said anxiety can mess your stomach up.
