bipolar on the job

How do you cope with bipolar episodes at work, if you're not medicated (or enough)....or how to get control in public?

Like, losing your temper, yelling, screaming, acting like a big shot, condescending, or otherwise starting arguments with people.....

I am not sure that what you describe is necessarily bipolar.  I am not a Dr but you don't seem to have deep depressive moods ie. mood swings that are typically the bipolar symptoms.

Perhaps a therapist who can discuss your RAGE tendencies would be a better begining to understand why you are like this.

I wish you the best.

Well my depressed episodes involve me sitting and tearing up, downloading the same sad songs on Youtube, or just going home from work and going straight to bed....I'm usually better by the next day but once it hits me I'm no good until the next day.....

Well it sounds like the bipolar MOOD SWINGS so its time to see a therapist.

I suffer from bipolar, and the MOOD swings were killing me.

I have found good therapy and a med called seroquel xr that has made a HUGE improvement.

Let me know if I can help further.

Don't bipolar meds have horrible side effects? I read one of them you have to go and have your liver monitored weekly or something....what side effects does seroquel have?

Like some MEDS yes you need to monitor its effects but you dont get blood work once a month or a week.

Tiredness is a side effect but thats not always.

Its always good ask your dr about side effects, but it shouldnt be the reason not to take meds.

I'm just not sure I'm at that level yet...of course I say that now because I haven't had an episode recently but if something were to blow up and get out of control I'd have no excuse.....I did talk to my GP and he said to continue journaling my feelings, episodes, mood levels, etc. etc. so I will continue with that....
